Founded in 1694, the main building is designated as an important cultural property of Gunma Prefecture as Japan's oldest surviving wooden hot spring accommodation building. Famous for the red bridge and exterior corridors said to be one of the inspirations for Studio Ghibli's 'Spirited Away.' Multiple bathhouses offer the renowned sodium-calcium chloride sulfate spring.
